Getting Started Working Out

The most common question I am asked is

"How do I get started working out?"

For most people other priorities seem to take precedence, it could be their job, family obligations, time, motivation, itc. Whatever the case may be, we think about working out but these obstacles prohibit us from reaching our fitness goals. To help you get started, I want you to think about what is the most important thing or person in your life. With that being said, you need to understand and always remember that those things you have just identified cannot be enjoyed without good health. Here are ten ways to get you moving!

1. Purchase a journal and write down your fitness goals. This will assist you on keeping track of your progress.
2. Outline on a calendar the days and times you can commit to. Do not let anything alter that commitment.
3. Make sure you buy the proper footwear. Remember you have only one body.
4. Join a gym or workout in an environment you feel most comfortable. Make sure you do exercise you enjoy.
5. Find a friend who wants to workout. However, remember everyone's goals are different so, if they don't continue you must keep working towards your goals.
6. Start slow, as though you want to challenge yourself. You do not want to become overwhelmed.
7. Set realistic short and long-term goals. Be patient! The new you is right around the corner.
8. Eat healthy foods such as vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Cut down on fats, sugars and sodium (eat these foods in moderation).
9. Listen to music you enjoy.
10. Have Fun!!!
